Terms and conditions
Last updated: April 11, 2026
Welcome to HubKit. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the HubKit resume-builder platform available at hubkit.net (the "Service"), operated by HubKit ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Please also review our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.
1. Service description
HubKit is an online platform that helps you create, edit, and export professional resumes. The Service includes:
- A resume editor with professional templates
- AI-powered features such as resume optimization, ATS compatibility checks, job-match analysis, text assistance, resume translation, resume assessment, and cover letter generation
- PDF import (upload an existing resume) and PDF export (download your resume)
- A job application tracker to organize your job search
- Cover letter creation tools
- Resume version history and checkpoints
We may add, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
3. Accounts and authentication
3.1 Registration
To use the Service you must create an account using an email address and password, or by signing in with Google OAuth. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration.
3.2 Account security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
3.3 One account per person
Each account is intended for a single individual. You may not share account access with others or create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits.
4. Subscription plans and billing
4.1 Plans
The Service offers a free tier and paid subscription plans. Each plan includes a defined set of features and monthly AI credit allowances. Current plan details and pricing are displayed on our website and within the Service.
4.2 Payment processing
Paid subscriptions are processed through our third-party payment provider. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize recurring charges at the applicable rate. We do not store your credit card number or full payment instrument details.
4.3 Billing cycle and cancellation
Subscriptions are billed on a monthly basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the subscription management portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you will retain access to paid features until then.
4.4 Pricing changes
We may change subscription pricing from time to time. If we increase the price of your current plan, we will provide advance notice. Continued use of the paid plan after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.
4.5 AI credits
AI-powered features consume credits from your plan's monthly allowance. Unused credits do not roll over between billing periods. If you exhaust your credits, AI features will be unavailable until your next billing cycle begins or you upgrade your plan.
4.6 AI Headshot packs (non-refundable)
AI Professional Headshots are sold as one-time packs. Each purchase grants generation credits (one credit produces one set of headshots). Because every headshot is produced by a paid third-party AI model that incurs real, non-recoverable compute cost the moment generation runs, all headshot pack purchases and headshot credits are final and non-refundable, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. Headshot credits are non-transferable and have no cash value. As a courtesy, if a generation attempt fails to produce any images, that attempt does not consume a credit, so you may try again β but this does not entitle you to a monetary refund. By purchasing a headshot pack, uploading a photo, or generating headshots, you acknowledge and agree to this no-refund policy and to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
The photos you upload for headshot generation are sent to our third-party AI image provider solely to produce your headshots. They are not used to train AI models and are deleted after your set is generated. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle uploaded images.
5. Your content
5.1 Ownership
You retain full ownership of the content you create, upload, or provide through the Service, including resume text, cover letters, uploaded documents, profile photos, and job application data ("Your Content"). We do not claim any ownership rights over Your Content.
5.2 License to us
By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely as necessary to provide and improve the Service. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account.
5.3 Responsibility for content
You are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and legality of Your Content. You represent that you have the right to provide all content you submit, and that your content does not infringe on any third party's rights.
6. AI-generated content
6.1 Nature of AI outputs
The Service uses third-party AI language models to generate suggestions, edits, assessments, translations, cover letters, and other outputs. AI-generated content is provided as a starting point and productivity aid. It may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or content that does not fully reflect your qualifications.
6.2 Your responsibility to review
You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying all AI-generated content before using it in any job application or professional context. We do not guarantee the accuracy, suitability, or completeness of AI outputs. Final decisions about what to include in your resume, cover letter, or application materials rest entirely with you.
6.3 No professional advice
AI-generated suggestions and assessments (including ATS compatibility checks, job-match scores, and resume assessments) are informational tools, not professional career, legal, or employment advice. They should not be relied upon as a substitute for your own judgment or professional consultation.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Create fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive resumes or application materials
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or qualifications
- Upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other user accounts, or our infrastructure
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scraping tools to access the Service, except through our documented interfaces
- Circumvent plan limits, rate limits, or access controls
- Systematically copy or extract Service content to build a competing product
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- Use AI features to generate content unrelated to resume building and career applications
Violation of these rules may result in suspension or termination of your account.
8. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third-party providers to deliver its functionality, including:
- AI language model providers for resume optimization, translation, assessment, and related AI features
- Payment processor for subscription billing and payment handling
- Email delivery service for transactional emails (verification, password reset)
- Google OAuth for optional sign-in
- Cloud storage provider for profile photos and resume screenshots
These third-party services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. We share only the minimum data necessary for each provider to perform its function. We are not responsible for the practices, availability, or actions of third-party providers, though we select providers that maintain reasonable data protection standards.
9. Intellectual property
9.1 Our property
The Service, including its design, code, templates, layout engine, branding, and documentation, is owned by HubKit and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or brand features.
9.2 Templates
Resume templates provided by the Service are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use in creating your own resumes. You may not extract, redistribute, or resell the templates themselves.
9.3 Feedback
If you provide us with suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use that feedback to improve the Service without any obligation to you.
10. Privacy and data
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.
In summary: we collect only the data needed to operate the Service, we do not sell or rent your data, and you can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings page.
11. Account suspension and termination
11.1 Termination by you
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. All your data, including resumes, cover letters, versions, job applications, AI history, and billing records, will be permanently removed.
11.2 Termination or suspension by us
We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in abusive or fraudulent behavior, or if continued access poses a risk to the Service or other users. Except in cases of serious abuse, we will provide reasonable notice and an opportunity to export your data before termination takes effect.
11.3 Effect of termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply, including provisions relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose
- The Service will meet your specific requirements or expectations
- Any defects or errors in the Service will be corrected within any particular timeframe
- Using the Service will result in employment or any particular career outcome
You acknowledge that career outcomes depend on many factors outside our control and that the Service is a tool to assist your efforts, not a guarantee of results.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, HubKit and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, employment opportunities, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service.
Our total cumulative liability for all claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) fifty US dollars (US $50).
These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based, and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HubKit and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your use of the Service in violation of these Terms
- Your Content, including any claim that it infringes on a third party's rights
- Your use of AI-generated content in application materials
- Any misrepresentation in resumes or application materials created through the Service
This indemnification obligation does not apply to the extent that the claim arises from our own negligence or willful misconduct.
15. Service availability
We strive to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control (including third-party service outages, internet disruptions, or force majeure events). We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by Service downtime.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where practical, provide notice through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you should stop using the Service and delete your account.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which HubKit is established, without regard to conflict of law principles.
In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to attempt to resolve the matter informally by contacting us at [email protected] before initiating any formal proceedings. If informal resolution is unsuccessful, disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of the jurisdiction in which HubKit is established.
18. General provisions
18.1 Entire agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and HubKit regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
18.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
18.3 No waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
18.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, provided the assignee agrees to honor these Terms.
